Updated 8/15- Due to contractor rain delays the chip sealing project is now scheduled to start on Thursday 8/17- weather dependent between now and that date.

The Town of Basalt and GMCO LLC will begin chip sealing Town of Basalt streets on August 17th  weather permitting, and will be working the streets in the following order:

      East Valley Rd (Hwy 82 to Evans); Upper half of Original Rd,; Emma Rd (Hwy 82 Slip Lane to the Sanitation Plant);

      Elk Run Neighborhood starting with Ptarmigan; Park Circle; Roaring Fork Ct.; Columbine Ct.; Kiln Ct.; Mountain Ct.; Riversedge Ct.; ending with Ridge Rd. in Old Town.

The chip will be put down first, followed by a fog seal coat  the following week - to be laid on the streets in the same order.

The entire project is expected to take two weeks, and wrap up on the 28th if there are no rain delays.

On street parking will not be allowed during the project hours while they are working on your street, and access will be limited.  There may be delays, however no roads will be completely closed at any time.  Streets with on-street parking will be noticed of the work two days ahead of time, with requests to move vehicles.  Any vehicles that are not moved will be towed at the owner’s expense.

Please make sure assure that no yard watering leaves your property, hits the street or flows down the gutter during the project hours.  If there are any questions please contact the Town of Basalt Public Works Department at 970-927-4723 ext. 500 or 501.

Thank you  very much for your cooperation.  We look forward to the beautification and preservation of your streets!
