Painting of Roads, Parking Spaces, Crosswalks, etc.:
Innovative Marking Systems will begin painting parking space lines, symbols, crosswalks and stop bars to throughout Southside, Elk Run and the Downtown Midland core.
They have been given permission to work at night without the use of heavy equipment or backup alarms. They will work with a small gas powered machine about the size of a golf cart. Depending on the amount of work they finish, temperature and weather dependent, we hope to follow the same approach with the Willits core beginning Tuesday or Wednesday night. We will post information as soon as it is known.
Darren of Grand River Construction will be the point of contact for the night work. He can be reached at 970 250-9740.
The painting of the lane lines may begin on Thursday or Friday, weather dependent.
Thank you for your patience while we spruce up our roads!
UPDATE: TUESDAY, JUNE 5, 2018:
On Wednesday, June 6, road work will begin about 7:30 AM around the west end of East Valley Road; trucks will start milling and hauling to the Eagle County Storage area near Crown Mountain. They will start on the west end of East Valley Road near the Park and Ride, then continue east to the City Market entrance. City Market will be accessible. Once they complete that section and rush hour traffic slows, they will move to the roundabout to start milling. Roundabout milling will take around 2 hours. They hope to pave the roundabout Thursday morning.
Please avoid taking the west end of Two Rivers Road and avoid taking East Valley Road tomorrow - Wednesday, June 6. Alternate routes to access the business areas include the Basalt roundabout and east Two Rivers Road. The east end of Willits Lane, and the far east end of East Valley Road will access Willits and City Market. Please do not travel through the Sopris Village neighborhood.
Thanks for your help and patience during this road work!
Stay tuned to this site for updates as they are released.
