Chip & Fog Seal begins June 13-17 on Southside Neighborhood & School St.

The Town of Basalt Public Works Department has contracted with GMCO to chip and fog seal the Southside Neighborhood and School Street.  Below is the schedule for the work and attached are the maps of each road that will be worked on.  No roads or access to driveways will be closed at anytime, however, you could face up to a 10-15 minute delay at a couple points during the work, so please be prepared for that.  Emergency vehicles will have access at all times.  There is no on-street parking during the work to make sure we have access to the entire road and to avoid any overspray.  Chip and Fog Seal Areas on Map (Southside & School Street Neighborhoods)

Monday 6/13:  GMCO will be chip sealing all of the asphalt streets (excludes alleys) in the southside neighborhood, please see attached map.  There will be no on-street parking available from 8am-7pm.  No roads or access to driveways will be closed, however you could face up to a 10-15 minute delay at a couple points during the work, so please be prepared for that.  Emergency vehicles will have access at all times.  Parking is available on Southside Drive or up at the Highschool at the end of Southside Drive if needed.

Tuesday 6/14:  GMCO will be chip sealing all of the asphalted areas on School Street and two small sections of Fiou Lane.

Friday 6/17:  GMCO will be back to sweep up all of the extra chip that has not adhered to the road after being driven on for a few days.  They will then fog seal all of the areas that they chip sealed. There will be no on-street parking available from 8am-7pm again today and no roads or access to driveways will be closed, however you could face up to a 10-15 minute delay at a couple points during the work, so please be prepared for that.  Emergency vehicles will have access at all times.  They are hoping to complete all of the roads work by the end of the day and be done with the project.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation while we complete the project and continue to improve our roads.
